Top 5 Things to Do in New Zealand

New Zealand is a peaceful country, ranked as the number one safest country in the world, with low crime rates, a good economy, good governance, and a wonderful livable environment. If you have any plans to migrate to another country, maybe just to study or live indefinitely, this country is highly recommended. But if you are just visiting, then you have to plan out everything before getting there, because if you don’t live in New Zealand, you don’t have enough time to completely enjoy what it has to offer. So here are the top 5 things I recommend you do in New Zealand.

1.) Bungee Jumping

The first thing you have to do after your flight to the country is to wake yourself up. And nothing wakes you up more than a shot of adrenaline; get this by jumping off a platform hundreds of meters from the ground. Queenstown has the best spot for doing just this.

2.) Boating

While in Queenstown, why not enjoy a relaxing boat ride… well not really, the jet boat is a kiwi invention that blurs the line between adventure seeking and suicidal. You speed through the water inches from the canyon walls, don’t worry though as the pilot is a professional. Enjoy the ride through Shotover Canyon with this adrenaline inducing activity.

3.) Explore a Volcanic Landscape

So you like Hiking? Would you like to walk on a Mars like environment? Maybe pretend you’re Mark Watney and reenact a few scenes from The Martian. If so, a hike through the Tangier volcanic complex and its Martian-like landscape is just the thing for you.

4.) Hike the Milford Track

The Milford Sound is a great place to hike and explore. With nothing to harm you in it, and I mean absolutely nothing like snakes, disease carrying insects, or venomous spiders.  A guided tour is also available if you would like to be in the safe side of things.

5.) Milford Sound by Kayak

You did the hiking, so let’s explore Milford sound by kayak, and don’t worry this one isn’t adrenaline inducing like the last boat ride. Experience the beauty of the 8th wonder of the world and relax while doing it. Milford Sound was voted as the top travel destination back in 2008 in TripAdvisor.

I can assure you that after traveling to New Zealand and experiencing only these 5 things you know that you are missing out on more things to do. My suggestion, plan a really long vacation when visiting New Zealand or better yet move there. Why not? It’s a wonderful place to live, a great place to raise children; school is 70% subsidized by the government, and best of all no snakes!
