What Matters Most to New Zealanders

“I believe that New Zealand has a great opportunity to do something that is both lasting and genuinely world leading in terms of setting a new and better model of development.”

(Prof. Michael Salvaris , leader in OECD project, “Measuring and Fostering Progress in Societies”.)

A long term collaborative project, provisionally called “What Matters Most to New Zealanders”, involves significant community engagement in the development of a national vision(s) and a set of wellbeing and sustainability indicators to measure progress on these visions.

The project, to be governed by a partnership between civil society, business, local government, and central government, will engage a network of practitioners and users from the above stakeholders, and referred to as a Network of Networks (NoN).  Maori will have an important role in all four sectors.

The project is being designed to identify, measure and create “What Matters Most to New Zealanders”.  It’s purpose is to “Create positive change in New Zealand towards greater wellbeing and sustainability”.  It will be highly collaborative and networked with existing projects.
